About Amy 〰️

I’m Amy, a Therapist based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. I offer both in person and online sessions. At the core of my work is my genuine want and desire to help people improve how they’re feeling. Sometimes we just need an impartial person to speak to, who will listen deeply and guide us to where we’d like to be. This is who I would like to be for you. The therapy I provide is uniquely tailored to each individual, as each one of us is different in our own way.

My specialty is Birth Trauma due to my own personal experience and I am passionate about helping women, birthing people and their partners navigate this challenging time.

I am a Master Practitioner in Cognitive Hypnotherapy and NLP Practitioner, trained by the Quest Institute at Regents University in London. I have also completed 'Confident Childbirth' training, ‘Make Birth Better’ Birth Trauma training, ‘The Solution Focused Approach to PTSD’ and a course in Book Therapy.

I understand how difficult life can be when you are having issues with mental health. I would love to be someone you can trust, working together to help you move forwards, building confidence and helping you to find the strength you already have to let go, breathe easier, feel lighter and free.

I work within ‘everyday’ trance, where you have full control of your own mind and together we can find the source of the problems you’re experiencing. Once we have found the source, we work towards how you would like to feel, and I’ll teach you exercises along the way which you can utilise outside of our sessions.

If you have any questions about the service I offer, or would like to have a chat about how I can support you, then please do get in touch to schedule a free initial call.

I believe you already have everything you need to enjoy your life and inhabit a more positive mindset.

Qualifications & experience

I’m committed to providing the highest standard of care and support for my clients. My professional journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to understanding the mind and its potential for transformation.

Master Practitioner in Cognitive Hypnotherapy: I completed my training at the prestigious Quest Institute at Regents University in London. This advanced training in Cognitive Hypnotherapy has provided me with the tools and skills to help clients achieve deep, lasting change by working with both the conscious and subconscious mind.

Make Birth Better Training Course: As part of my continued development in supporting mothers, I completed this course to deepen my understanding of the emotional and psychological impact of birth. This training equips me to help women and birthing people who have experienced birth trauma and supports them in healing and regaining confidence.

Confident Childbirth: I am a qualified Confident Childbirth Practitioner, blending Hypnobirthing techniques with Cognitive Hypnotherapy to provide women with the skills to approach labor with confidence, reduce fear, and experience a positive birth experience.

Book Therapy: In addition to my work with anxiety, depression, and birth trauma, I’ve trained in Bibliotherapy, which helps clients explore self-help books and novels to address specific issues in their lives. This therapeutic approach offers clients an empowering and insightful way to work through their challenges alongside my sessions.

Compassionate Inquiry with Gabor Maté: I am enrolled in the Compassionate Inquiry course with renowned physician and trauma expert Dr. Gabor Maté. This transformative program focuses on understanding how early life experiences, trauma, and addiction shape our emotional and psychological well-being. It will deepen my ability to support clients on their healing journey, particularly those struggling with unresolved trauma.

I am a member of the National Council of Hypnotherapy (NCH)

How I Work

Cognitive Hypnotherapy combines therapeutic techniques with hypnosis to access the subconscious mind and change negative patterns.

NLP helps reframe thoughts and behaviours to create lasting change. Together, these methods support you in overcoming emotional challenges and achieving personal growth.

Alongside Cognitive Hypnotherapy and NLP, I also offer Eye Movement Integration (EMI), a highly effective therapeutic approach designed to help you process and resolve emotional blockages, trauma, and distressing experiences.

EMI uses guided eye movements to facilitate the natural reprocessing of unresolved memories and emotions, bringing about deep emotional healing and relief.
